Important Notice Regarding Medicaid Coverage
Dear Valued Patient,
We are writing to inform you of an important change regarding dental insurance coverage at our practice. Effective January 1, 2026, our office will no longer be able to accept Medicaid insurance. This decision was not made lightly and comes after careful consideration. We remain committed to supporting our Medicaid patients through a thoughtful transition period, which we outline below.
Emergency Care Transition Period
For 120 days following January 1, 2026, until 4/30/2026, we will continue to see Medicaid patients for emergency dental care only. During this time, we will be unable to initiate new treatment plans or provide routine or restorative care. Any non-emergency dental work will need to be referred to another Medicaid-participating provider.
We strongly encourage patients to begin arranging care with another dental office that accepts Medicaid to avoid any interruption in needed services.
Orthodontic Treatment
Patients who have already started orthodontic treatment at our office with Dr. Thompson, may be reassured that we will continue and complete their orthodontic care through to completion, even after January 1, 2026. If you already have appointments scheduled for your orthodontic care, please keep them and if you need to schedule one, please call the office to do so.
Referrals and Support
Our team will be happy to assist with referrals to other dental providers that accept Medicaid and can help answer any questions you may have during this transition. We truly appreciate the trust you have placed in our practice. It has been our privilege to care for you, and we remain committed to supporting your dental health in any way we can during this period.
